At Gear Up Giving, we understand the adventures that ATVs, UTVs, and side-by-sides can bring to outdoor enthusiasts in Chicago. Whether you used your four-wheeler for weekend hunting trips or off-road excursions in nearby parks, these vehicles often hold a special place in the hearts of their owners. However, as time goes on, many vehicles sit unused in garages or driveways, waiting for new adventures. If you find yourself in this situation, consider donating your ATV or UTV to support local community initiatives.
Your donation not only provides much-needed funds to help those in need but also offers a straightforward method to responsibly part with your vehicle. Our dedicated team makes the donation process seamless, ensuring your ATV or UTV is transformed into a force for good in Chicago. Together, we can make a difference while giving your vehicle a new purpose in the community.

How pickup works
Pickup for your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side is designed for your convenience. Typically, we arrange for a small flatbed truck to come directly to your location. In many cases, we understand that off-road vehicles may not have a title; instead, we can facilitate the donation using an MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) and a bill of sale. Our team will work with you to coordinate the pickup, ensuring a smooth exchange, even if the vehicle is currently stored on your property or at a hunting cabin. If you have a utility trailer to donate as well, we can discuss that too!
What drives donation value
The donation value of your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side can vary based on several factors. Generally, vehicles with lower mileage, or those with hours of use documented on 4-stroke ATVs, can command a higher value. Models like Polaris RZR and Can-Am UTVs tend to maintain strong resale values in the used market. Well-maintained equipment with service records often nets a better return, while cosmetic issues like dents or faded plastic can lead to discounts. However, even non-running units hold positive parts value, and we encourage donors to consider the condition and maintenance history when determining value.
Documentation you need

Chicago specifics
In Chicago, Illinois, the DMV has specific regulations regarding off-road vehicles. Many ATVs and UTVs used solely for recreational purposes are not titled like traditional vehicles, making an MSO or bill of sale essential for donations. Understanding these local regulations is vital for a smooth donation process. Our team at Gear Up Giving is well-versed in these rules to ensure that your donation complies with Illinois state laws.
